Our Organization
Shannon Acres Homeowners Association (SAHA) is an organization of the residents of Shannon Acres Subdivision located in Statesville, NC. The subdivision was first platted in 1959 when the Statesville Country Club, which had only nine holes, was moved to its present site in east Statesville. At present there are 438 platted lots and 284 homes. SAHA was originally started to increase the security of the area which was at that time outside the city limits. It was annexed into Statesville in 1990.
Our functions include:
- A private security patrol.
- Two entrances with stone walls, lighted signs, and plantings which were installed and are maintained by SAHA.
- An active neighborhood watch program with a goal of proactively preventing crime in the neighborhood.
- At least two newsletters per year mailed to the residents to keep them informed about activities in the neighborhood.
- Email newsletters to inform the residents of activities that occur between the more formal newsletters.
- A yearly neighborhood social event for all of the residents in the subdivision.
- This web site to keep the residents informed of activities in the neighborhood.
- Maintaining video surveillance to make the neighborhood more secure.
- Welcoming new residents and offering them assistance in settling in to their new home.
- Reducing the speed limit to make our subdivision's roads safer for motorist and pedestrians.
- Installing extra signs related to speed limit, neighborhood watch protection, and other appropriate street signs.
- Upgrading Neighborhood street signs at both entrances.
- Widening and installing curbs at the St. Andrews Dr. entrance.
- Upgrading Neighborhood street signs throughout the neighborhood.
- A resident call system to notify all residents of important happenings(Emergency and Non-Emergency) in the neighborhood.
